Paris streets often flush out old unwanted rusty things. Someone trashed this 1865 Bauche treasure box. Its empty now, but just the right kind of travel Partner to lock up those special finds. No metal detector was used. :)

Thanks guys for all the well wishes. I send a mail to a treasure box collector and told him about the two safe boxes i found. This one and the other one long ago which is so big humans can hide there when death comes around. That one was a gift not forsale ever. Now in my next thread I will show you the keys i found two days later at the same spot soon to be followed with a silver pendant with two well known ancient greek warrior leaders heads. Hope you are curios.

020.webp021.webp022.webp023.webp024.webp025.webpOk so here are the keys that i found two days after at the same spot. 42 in total. None though did fit my treasure box but none the less I am thinking perhaps I can make some art out of them. The larger 3 keys are each 14cm long. I guess it to be Late 1800 like the box

A treasure to hold treasure!

1865 box.webp How it looks restored. Not quite read to go that far.

1865 strong box

It weighs roughly 15kilo. I put the measures with the original post. Yea they did made it incombustable fireproof and thief resistant. How much presure it can take is unsure. BUt Bauche is renown for excellent quality. Its made from metal and in 1865 they didnt carry around metal torches. I would say a thief with a buldozer might be required after it is bolted to the wall or floors. You are welcome to aquire the item to test it with a sledgehammer :):BangHead:

indeed

Im sure you want it to hide all your precious treasure coins.

Viva la France?

You have one nice honey hole. Both are once in a life-time finds.
