Haven’t posted in this section for years but I figured this was a good enough reason. Took the X-Terra Pro out to a farm woods yesterday, equipped with the 6” EQ coil. I hit a fairly decent but jumpy signal and unearthed this guy! An 1870 3 Cent Nickel. The most exciting part was having no idea whatsoever what I had found until I did an image search. I truly had no idea this coin even existed until yesterday. The detail is so amazing that it’s probably been buried for nearly all of its 154 years. What a fun find!

that's in pretty nice condition. A lot of the 3 cent nickel coins are pretty toasty after being in the ground so long. The 3 cent piece has an interesting history. Read up about it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-cent_piece

That really IS in nice, nice, very nice condition...good for you.

Nicest dug 3 Cent Nickel I have ever seen. What clean up method dod you use ?
I have to agree, that is a real beauty. I found one several years ago and it is really toast. The soil was much kinder in your area than in mine. Way to go, congratulations, stay safe, good luck and keep swingin.
