hey you found my car! nice :)

Super dollar I've been at this a long time and have never found one . In any shape. ;D

A Morgan and another one of those blue trucks! There was a thread recently about the cars we've found and that blue truck was shown often.

Thank's for the replies all ! Peroxide didn't do anything, got er soakin in olive oil,but i think its a lost cause !When i found it i thought it might be some sort of medal or token,so just tossed it in my bottle of water and kept on lookin !I think if it had been all purdy and shinin i would have enjoyed the find more. But I'll be back there tomorrow for a better look see ! Gotta be some silver there somewere as the house predates 1868.The owner also told me there was a foundation out back that i haven't investigated yet. ;D

Found one just like that last week, it came in on my MD as zinc. Call me a skeptic, but I am 99.9% sure that they're fakes. Yes, I know, it broke my heart, too. HH

Nice finds, ks!

Too bad about the dollar, keep trying though it may clean up.

Sousa. . . super silver! Even in that condition. . . you've found more of those than I have.

I was thinking that myself,But it weighs the same as a silver dollar and as far as i can tell it looks real.Maybe counterfit ???

Try putting a piece of aluminum foil in the bottom of a coffee cup. Then add about a half inch of baking soda in the bottom. Put the coin in the cup and cover with more baking soda. Pour over the top boiling water and let it bubble. Repeat this until you get the desired result. I only do this with coins of minimal value. It sure makes dug silver display better.

Didn't I read somewhere here that people would sometimes use silver dollars to mark the boundaries of their property?....maybe not..
