Dudes,

Hey, guys, I got out today with my two relatives to our productive site. :D

To get to my story, I was sweeping along in a different section of the field when I was startled with a "P" on "Penny" hit. :D I was super suprised to have plucked this baby from the soil. :D At first, I thought it was a 3-cent wilver, but then after closer professional examination, I knew what I had found. It is an 1880 Canadian "Fish Scale." :D Yeah, it ain't a coppa, but I will take it. :D

Colonial Zoyboy and Zeus each got there Colonial relics, but no coins today. :D I guess there will always be a tomarraw! :D

Keep the passion high! :D

Kirk :D

"Oh yeah, look at that." <Colonial KirkPA pointing to something and when CZ looks at that something, CK slugs him!> :D

CZ shrugs it off like it was nothing ,looks mistakenly at CSZ and punches his jib next thing we have a regular brouhaha going on. Too many endless cornrows gets to the 3 datectateers.

Kyle and I were just talking about detecting and we both agreed that you should post your cufflinks! :)

That is a very nice find! Even better than a Coppa, given the number of Coppas that you find.

Keep @ it and HH!!

On this general area, we found numerous 1700s wilvers coins, so this find was kind of troublesome at first.

About the cufflink...(seen the post on another forum)

Can't give a positive ID but can put you on track to a possibilty. The writing above is near impossible to make out, but there is only two similar cufflinks I am familar with. The first is George Washington which it is clearly not, and the second is Admiral Lord George Brydges Rodney.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Rodney

I believe the link would read Rodney across the top and in the picture you guys posted the right side link you can make a case for the first three letters being ROD. I also recall the image being very streamline with the helmet he was wearing which is also consistent with the one you guys posted. Good luck, and nice find, and if you're not getting anywhere for ID definitely chase a few British Royal Navy collectors.

Iron Patch, thanks for the information. I will ask my uncle to take better pictures and post them on here. The lighting in that picture wasn't the greatest.

I hope we can identify these cufflinks.

Hey Kirk. I see you scored a "Fish Scale"! That's a great find, and a tough one considering how small they are.

I know you would be happier with an Old Coppa, but I bet that fish scale surprised the hell out of you. :o

Nice job, Buddy!
