Hey all, haven't gotten my md yet. I have a question. I was rummaging through some old stuff and came across an 1882 silver Liberty dollar. Can post pic later, but I was curious as to its value. It appears is great shape, slight discoloration, but normal I think (I don't know much about coins!). Any help would be great. Happy Hunting.

Picture would be good. What is the mint mark? I believe on a Morgan dollar it is underneath the eagle. Anything other than a Carson City mint mark would make this a common coin worth probably 15 dollars. I'm no coin expert though, others on this board will no doubt have more info.

It has an "s" under the eagle. I assumed that stood for silver...thanks for the reply.

Nope, it stands for San Francisco. Here is a website for pricing. It is pretty inflated as far as I'm concerned though. Common date Morgans sell for about 12-17 bucks at my local coin shop. If you bring it in to sell, you should shoot for that figure.
