I went out after work for an hour to a site I've been looking into over the winter. I wasn't sure how far back the site dated but I knew it dated to at least the 20's. The weather's finally cooperating around here for the last week so I gave it a try. The area was real trashy. I don't think it's ever been hunted. About a half hour into the hunt I got a good dime hit on the T2 about 9-10 inches deep. I started digging and hit a big cluster of thick roots but found a gap in between them that I could barely fit my hand in. I kept scooping with my hand and checking the hole with my pin pointer and finally pulled this beauty out. I didn't clean it until I got it home and then just lightly. The picture does not do it justice. It's in much better shape than it looks. I have it soaking in olive oil. If it turns out to be an 8 over seven, then it's definitely my best find. Thanks for reading.

just take another pic of the coin when it's done cleaning cause I know I see a 7 in those 2 pics...
Here's an updated pic. I took it out of the olive oil then cleaned with a wet Q-Tip and patted it dry. I adjusted the contrast/brightness setting to see the date better.HH
