Hey everyone,

Been a good month since I last posted. Haven't been doing as much hunting this yr with the new born and work. But the times I got out here and there were decent.

One of the highlights in the field recently included a first on the surface Barber Quarter. Now I've found a good bit of barber quarters. But never one right on the surface.

Didn't even have dirt on it. I've got barber dimes on the surface but not quarters. I thought when I first found it and picked it up. It was just a Reggie Quarter.

But to my surprize it was a really nice 1892 quarter. Nothing real special this take. Been alot of relics lately. Some old coins.

I had alot more pics but for time reasons I'm just putting up the best items as a group. I'm not even gonna break down the finds. Just common wheats, indians ,war nickels ,mercs , rosie ,washington...

If you have any questions though I'd be more than happy to answer or explain.

HH Jer

Awesome little collection!

Nice Barber!

Is that an extra large marble?

Congratulations on the entire array!

Nice finds Jer and congrats! HH, Mike

That 1/4 buck looks like it was lost the day it was minted! Nice eyeball you got yourself there. The whole array you have displayed looks good. HH and glad you can get out once in a while.

Jer,
A great display of relics and coins you got there. Congrats on the Barber, you lucky dog!
I wish I could find more of those "common coins" ;D like the IH's and Mercs you have there.
Great job.

Same area Jeremy...or are you working a new spot?

Still looking for that largie.

WTG, Jer, that's a fascinating array of stuff around a very fine Barber! My last I.H. was ROT (right on top) also.

I'll watch for a writeup over on 'the local' (it's me, PlunkTwang).

I'm thinking it was you who was hunting a mine site--meaning those numbered miner tags?

And what's that thing left of center with the sort-of-threaded base? Furniture ornament? Radiator ornament?

Cool stuff.

Great find and nice assortment of other goodies!

Thanks alot guys for looking

Yes, The marble is a large over sized one. It is really a beautiful marble. It was one of my favorite recent finds.

I find marbles often. But this is one of the nicest I ever found. I was told it is german. But a few others dissagreed. I know it's old though.

Lol, I know I say at Times (Just) those common coins. Alot of people out there can't find just those common coins. To me they are common.

Just like wheats are to others. Were always looking for that older era of conaige and artifacts. I can get back to the 1860's till present. But those colonial sites pre 1850 are more scarce.

Being in PA and having so much history around here helps. But sites are getting harder and harder to come by out there. They are building up everything.

Love all them finds, Jer!

Nana ;)

Great stuff as usual. The Barber Quarter was either dropped by some kid from his father's coin collection or another detectorist who lost it. ;) :D ;D

Was the ground rocky where you found the Quarter?

Thanks guys,

No Mirage, It was nice black soil. Probably was washed out from the hill. Or it was shallow and all these heavy rains rinced it away. It was in the woods near some old foundations.

It was under cover also. Huge tree's it was under. It was the same place I took Danimal to hunt at. Matter of fact almost all the finds in the pic came from there.

Then I Find a Washinton 1940 in the same area around 12 inches down. Under 2 slabs of sandstone. The unit picked it up in the very moist soil.

There was alot of coal minning going on around here. I have found alot of different types of tages out there.

Plunk, I was unsure myself as to what that was. It threaded onto something. It's heavy appears to be brass or copper. Has a nice design to it. I thought at first it was a hood ornament.

Yes Jer, I'd say that is a "Nice Little Batch" of finds there.

Good mix of coins and interesting relics.

Thanks for sharing.

Nice finds Jer; You probably told me at McKinley but what program setting do you use with your DFX?
