1893-4 Cripple Creek dog tag!!! Mystery clock piece!!

[diggingthe1]

Got out last night with my son for some hunting. This popped out of a mine tailing pile. I think it's the first year Cripple Creek made the dog tags. First one from around here I've seen that gas dog check on it! I'm not sure what the clock piece is. Really cool compact I'll try to restore a little. Happy hunting!!

The 1893 Dog License Tag is a fantastic find - congrats !

The old Dog License / Tax Tags are some of my favorite finds - oldest I've found so far is 1918.
From what I've read the oldest known in the US is from 1857.
You should also post this in the "Tokens & Tags" section on T-Net.
There's a thread called "Show Us Your Old Dogs Tags".
