Great save, very nice condition, congrats on the save and welcome to tNet from upstate NY. Be careful how you try and clean it because you could easily ruin the appearance of it. IMHO I would leave it as it is right now, it's beautiful

No telling now if it originally was a matte proof or not. Even if it was, in it's present condition, it would not have any added value over a regular business strike.

Yours is a fresher drop than my green 1896 Indian. I used Andres Pencils to get the crud off of mine.

Clean it with a dry brush...no water! It should display real nice!
