18K gold today ! My son found silver !

Hey everyone ! I got out this weekend for two hunts , yesterday not so good today was great ! Yesterday I hunted with eagleforce at a local soccer field . My best find was my first hole dug . I had a +2 at 3 inches and was hopping for gold . Well I'm not sure what I have . It's a small ear ring with one large stone and 5 small ones . It has 925 on the stem but the main part has no marks but tested 10K gold .
As for this morning My son Carson and I hunted with my friend Kevin from Lake Tahoe at a local school . My son had the first great find only 15 minutes in ! It was his 2nd ever silver quarter ! It's a worn 1942D and man was he happy ! It took me about an hour to find the goods . I had a +80 at 2 inches , a silver pendent with the name Samar on it . Then the big find of the day came about a half hour later . I had a +32 at one inch and when the dirt came out so did gold ! It's a (750 ) 18K gold wedding band ! It weighs 4.7 grams , not bad :headbang:

. Also found two junk rings bringing my ring total to #152 for the year . Total clad for both hunts was $10.67 .

I cant believe we both found 18K gold today. We should hunt seperate more often??!!?!?! hahaa. Silver and gold takes the day! Congrats my man! :headbang:

Super finds...I have only found two rings so far both silver. I have a feeling I have passed up some gold rings with the amount of hours I have put into metal detecting. lol. Anyway...how do you clean your rings? Is it different depending on how many karat gold and also do you clean silver rings by another method? I know there is jewelry cleaner but I was wondering if the instructions for cleaning gold or silver rings were different since the ones we have come from the ground. I appreciate any input you have on that. Again, congrats to you and your son - what a great hobby to spend time together.

I clean my silver and gold with baking soda and a little water to make a paste . It works great !

I would think it's a CZ due to the 925 China mark on the stem . It sure looked great in the dirt !

Your earring is 10k Gold Plated .925 silver, I can't remember what its called but I have found it before... It likely has a heavy plating of gold called "Filled" so it tested 10k, try taking a file and putting a deep scratch in it and test that area again. As for everything else, great finds and post !!!
