1850’s 18k Gold Signet Ring

Headed back to an old spot today that I did’t have much hope for because of how many times we’ve been there. I dug 3 shot gun head stamps in a row and hit another head stamp signal. Dug it and thought it was foil when I saw it shine in the sun and to my surprise it was gold.

Tests out at 18k and weighs in at 3 grams. If you can help ID the makers mark let me know.

I can’t find it documented (nor an image) but my searches suggest that an arrow facing a five-pointed star was one of the trademarks used by the Louis Stern Company (aka L.S. Co. / L.S. & Co.). The company was founded in 1871 in Providence, Rhode Island and was prominent in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries, going out of business in the 1950s.

They used a whole host of symbols and other brand names apart from their main trademarks on specific jewellery product lines.

Ive found several over the years that were marked with Stars or XXX to show the purity.
One X or Star meant 10k, 2 of either was 14k and 3 were 18k which I have none of the 18k..also a single crown meant 18k..
Yours has the star and the comet tail so its a mark Ive never seen, and it tested 18k.. most signets I have found were 10k and I would bet I have close to 100.. a few 14k and only one 18k but it has english marks

Out of all the signets I've dug Ive only had one with a diamond on the front like yours (And it was missing the stone also) .. most of the rings I have that have diamonds are women's. Just message me if you need.
