18th Century Shipwreck Contains "Best-preserved Cargo of its Kind Ever Found in Northern Europe"

"The shipwreck was found by Espen Saastad, a watch designer who also operates a small remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and survey company."

Once again, cheers for the little guy, who has the archies show up later.

I second that, but it raises a question for me. If this kind of treasure hunting is your full time job, is it worth it to discover a find like this if there are no precious metals? If the entire load is porcelain, brass, bronze and other common items does it cover the costs of the voyage and recovery?

And as an aside, wasn't it John Harrison the clock guy who discovered the secret to calculating longitude, and was denied the prize by his betters at the time?
