Greetings t-net amigos (and amigas !) Went to a small but intensively frequented park in downtown

Santa Fe this afternoon. I found 190 modern coins (aprox. $15.00) but the really important info i want

to share is this; I realised that pocket spills ,which are rather common in these kind of parks, very often

display two characteristics, 1 - they sound like popcorn popping with regard to the detector sounds,

and 2- they often read like "zincoln" cents on the vdi meter. One of the new realisations i came to today

was that quarters, dimes, and copper cents, that normally would read as such on my vdi meter, were

being masked by the "zincoln cents" . In other words ,even though these good targets were present ,

I could only hear that they were there, the multiple solid audibles , were the evidence that targets of

higher integrity were present. In the case of a single isolated "zincoln cent" the audible is sketchy, and

iffy or non existant with the word zinc on the vdi meter. Why i am so excited about this, is that last

year i pretty much only dug signals that read 80+ on my vdi meter, this year i've resolved to dig all

penny dime signals as well ( although not single "zincoln cents") and already i've found many more

silver rings that came in as dime signals, several silver dimes , and quarters that may have been on

edge, and this year i will dig all these popcorn sounding pocket spills that read "zincoln" but sound

penny/ dime/quarter. I know this post is long but hopefully you MXT users can benefit. In closing

let me say that i'm using the 6x10 DD coil disc. maxed, gain set @ 10 for newer city parks.

Blessings to all ! Gregory, Santa Fe.

Good info. I've often passed over some of those popping sounds before thinking they were just junk. :-[ Maybe I'll go back and check them when I get the chance.

That's a lot of diggin for one day, and I understand what ya mean about the signals you get with a detector... WTG

Thanks for the info... I was wondering how the zincoln cents would read. Will have to pay more attention to my readings. HH
