Greetings T-Net Nation! I've been on a roll of late. March ended on a high note with finding a very large, 100 Year old pocket spill. I'm very happy to report that the month of April is off to a a great start as well. Back in the woods this afternoon for a three hour hunt, not far from the location of that eleven coin pocket spill. My first solid coin signal of the hunt had a VDI of "88" on my Deus 2. That usually turns out to be a wheatie. Not today! I was thrilled to see a 1827 Capped Bust dime at the bottom of the hole.

In all my years of detecting, I have only found three capped bust silvers. This coin cleaned up nicely, and was demanding a close-up

She's in great condition in my estimation, especially given the age. The remainder of the hunt produced a 1900 Liberty nickel and a 1902-O Barber dime. Quite the trio of beautiful US coins!

I count myself very lucky to live in an area where this types of coins are still out there, waiting to be unearthed. Thanks for taking a look, and Happy Hunting to all!

I agree that it’s in great shape. A Lot of old coins circulated continuously until the gold rush provided the minerals to bolster our circulating wealth.
