1906 Indian

Found this 1906 in great shape. Hey guys! Sorry for any confusion. Just so everything is crystal clear, this penny was not dug up and found in the ground. I had a 1920’s homesite permission. We found it on the surface scattered amongst leaves at the edge of the driveway entrance. Common sense told me someone recently dropped it. I couldn’t imagine this penny sitting in place as it was for over 100 years. I even asked the home owner if she dropped it because of its close proximity and condition but she said no. In passing someone dropped it. Could speculate all day but that makes the most logical sense. Because we found this Indian head penny during our hunt I decided to share it with everyone on today’s finds. This has to be the nicest looking Indian head penny I ever found.

Hey Scolino ! Could we get just a bit of story here ? For some of us (me ) finding an Indian Head cent would be career defining event, because I haven't found one in 12 years metal detecting . Is this a dug find , or did you get it coin roll hunting ,or in change ? C'mon give us some story here !

I have been lucky enough to find 4 IHPs 2 were dug at a sidewalk tear out using just my Pinpointer in piles of displaced dirtView attachment 1673055

1909 and 18?? I have a friend in the concrete business and he notifies me about any tear outs he does 3rd IHP came from a friends property that used to be a farmhouse in late 1800s dug 3 buffalos and IHP along a hedgerow that defines border of the property

1890,still haven’t searched yard area from that site,and 4th IHP

1864 in an area next to original Conshohocken train station that is now a cafe haven’t finished that site either wish you all the best Argentium in finding that IHP

My first Indian head was at a school playground where I had been several times before. It was under
the parallel bars where I always find allot of new coins. The indian I found was very clean and about 2"-3"
deep in the mulch. I figured a kid stole grandpa's change. I have only found 2 more since and they were 8"+
and had been there a while. It really makes my day when I find one.

My dad was born in 1906 he carried a small zippered change purse with his change in it he also had a 1906 Indian head in it that looked very good If he had of lost it before he died and someone had of found It would of been a mystery as to it's condition Nice find looks great

The homeowner might have felt bad for you that poor guy thinking hes gonna find a treasure
She grabbed it from her coin collection or bought it for you. lol People can be wierd like that

actually my first IHP was an eyeball find as I walked through the woods near an old dug well. it was if someone had dropped it recently but this was a very grown up place from around 1900 or so. that was 45 years ago and no one living for a mile in any direction. the whole place is houses now, like 300+. Beats me but it was on the ground, 1886 I believe.
