I just found my first 1909 wheatie. I was so excited. Too bad I can't an S or VDB on it. Exactly where is the VDB located? All of the features and writing looks very good. I have just cleaned it with water and nothing else. The rest of the day I just found the usual junk and pop tabs and almost 50 cents in clad and a silver plated spoon. I am going to go back there tomorrow to see if I can find any other goodies.

Wish me luck!

Nice. Looks like you should find some other good stuff there. I attached a piture of a VDB penny I have found. The VDB can be hard to see sometimes.

Well I went back today and pounded the place again for another six hours. So after about 12 hours of detecting.
I ended up with 1906 wheatie, 1905 Indian head, lots of shredded matchbox cars that got hit by a lawn mower or just an angry kid LOL. A couple of spoons ,marbles , a Ford Key, and $1.24 in clad. Hopefully after a couple of more trips I will get most of the junk cleaned up and find some real treasure there. Hoping.

Thanks for the pic. I was looking between the branches. Anyway I double checked and its not there. Shucks!!

Wow, you really are digging everything. ;D

Those are some cool looking marbles. The IH and older wheat penny are good keepers.

Keep at it.

Looks like a nice site to hunt. I have found 1909 VDB's but no 1909 S VDB coins.
You would think after 23 years of hunting I would have at least found one of the 1909 S VDB coins.
Oh well, guess I'll just keep looking.

Dont stop going over it. The more you pull out the deeper you will get.

Section that sucker off and go over the front yard a few times then hit the back.

I allways seem to keep finding things as i pull out the junk.
