1923 Salt Water Peace Dollar with the Nox

Today I went down to the salt water to a spot I have been working for the past couple months. Nearly every trip has yielded silver, often in multiples. It was just a few weeks ago that Washingtonian and I were saying there must be silver dollars out there. I had already found two walker halves and dozens of silver dimes and quarters. A week later Washingtonian found his first silver dollar on this beach. An 1890-O Morgan. Today would be my turn. After gridding an area that Washingtonian and I had left off on, I got a bangin' 38/40 on the Equinox. Cautiously optimistic, I dug a wider hole than usual and caught the glimpse of the oxidized brown rim. My first silver dollar! Though the salt water has not been kind to her, I have come to appreciate these salt water silvers. I'm still the first person to touch it since it was dropped, likely nearly 100 years ago. That never gets old. I was able to clean some of the thick silver oxide off to obtain a date. 1923. She's nowhere near as pretty as a dirt-find, but I am just as happy. I finally did it.
