1933 Chicago World's Fair FDR coin

I didnt have much time to hunt today because work kept getting in the way. I did however pull this out before I had to run. It's a little different than the ones I found on line. It's brass and pretty cool.

Re: 1933 Chicago World's Fair FDR coin

It's kinda funny, I was asked to go to an old house that was just bought and pick up a tiny swingset. I was told I could go hunting while I was there. I went there and didnt see it anywhere. I left a message for my friend and hunted while I waited for a call back.
He calls and says it's on the right side of the house.
I asked, "near the pond?" (silence) he says, "um what pond? It's near all the cut down trees." (hesitation from me) "Um what cut trees?"
He then asked how I got there. When I told him he said, "uh you're at the wrong house! It's the other end of that road!"
You know I packed up and high-tailed it outta there! Ooops! I went to a bank owned property that was on one end of the road when it was another bank owned property at the other end! At least no one was living there! :tongue3:

Now treat yourself to the book The Devil in the White City, by Erik Larson. A great true story that interweaves the fair and a contemporary serial killer. It's an outstanding history lesson and something to do when you can't get outside.

That book sounds really intriguing! I can load it on my Kindle I got for my birthday last week! Thanks for recommending it to me!
I can't help but think about how a Chicago Worlds Fair coin ended up so far east! That was a long trip I would think.
Havent matched it up to any others yet so I'm glad it's not so common- Thanks guys!

Re: 1933 Chicago World's Fair FDR coin

Hey Joe, how did I miss those? I thought I looked on ebay!

Very nice! I usually try to print up a completed auction listing of an item I've found and put it in my folder, that way I dont have to research it all over again! Thank you so much!
