Re: Pulled gun on a cop today :-) :-)

Sometime back while digging away, I looked up to see an official looking pair of shoes standing in front of me and thought uh oh. It was a cop that had seen me an just came up to see what I had found and to tell me his dad detected too.
And told me some other spots to try also. He had grown up around there. Really nice guy. So you just never know. HH

Re: Pulled gun on a cop today :-) :-)

lol lol lol great post jim.a couple of years a go i had an experience with the law.anyway i was panning at the local forest after the rain.it was a public holiday and i could here a car coming up the track,it was a cop car. so i walked up to the car and the officer said 'have you seen a white ford in the area' i said no.he then asked me "what might you be doing" i am panning for gold.i showed him what i had found. he then asked me for my miner right which you must have under the law to prospect.i refused to show him it and told him that miner right was issued by the mines dept not the victoria police. he didn't like what i said.i then explained to him that the victoria police hadn't had the right to check miners right since 1904 and the reason the law was changed because the cops in the early days where on the take and not very honest.he left pissed off and i laughed tinpan

Re: Pulled gun on a cop today :-) :-)

Diamond,

two weeks ago was checking out an area
along old canal with abandoned factory buildings
in the area.

I was in a wooded area, off a dirt road.
One cop car slows and stops, second comes up
about 2 min later.

Decided to surrender. :-\
Learned long ago, one car -two cars-the third cop
car always has the dog in in ;)

Cops were o.k.. Said someone had called in about
me. They get folks going into the buildings, (who Me) ::)

Ran my name, birth date for any outstanding warrents;
we talked; they left.

Never know what you"ll find.
Found out no outstanding warrents still in effect ;D

have a good un............

Pulling a gun on a COP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My wife and I were having dinner at a SUSHI restaurent, I had to go to the mens room, on my way I passed a couple drinking beer, (tall Suparro) hic!, as I walked by the guy and a gal, I noticed a 9mm inside of the guys belt, I went back to my table and kept watching the person with the gun, (could this be undercover cop?) they ordered another round of beer, I did get a little nervous so I went outside and called 911, described who and what I saw, at that time they came out of the restaurent, jumped in a green bronco, I was still on the line to 911
they backed out of the parking space and went maybe 150' in the parking lot and all of a sudden 6 (six) cop cars showed up blocked him in and pulled him out of the car GUNS DRAWN on suspect. well come to find out it was an undercover cop, I had to laugh, stupid cop drinking beer in public with exposed gun. they let him go of coarse, half full of beer and driving to boot , undercover dude went back in restaurent and chewed out the waiter, HAH, justice was served.

Re: Pulled gun on a cop today :-) :-)

I am not a cop, but I would have shot you! ;D

Keep it safe and HH!!

Re: Pulled gun on a cop today :-) :-)

Good thing you had a good cop pay you a visit.

I found a pellet gun once mayself but it had been recently lost and was in top shape. I turned it into the local police thinking it might get returned to the owner. I'm sure it made some cop's kid very happy ;D

Re: Pulled gun on a cop today :-) :-)

to cool jim! they arent all bad, I have met some real nice ones, matter of fact ran into one last year who gave me some places to try out.

As far as pulling the gun on the cop... A friend of mine owns a transmission shop, lives right down from his shop and the alarm had gone off one late night so he drove down there to check it out, beat the cops and was upstairs with his pistol looking around when he heard someone downstairs, started coming down the stairs with his pistol when the cop came into view, luckily the cop was a good friend and a customer and he recognized him, my friend yelled... YOU WILL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE COPPER... (true story, the cop told it to me) anyhow after they both cleaned out there pants they laughed hystericaly about it.

Re: Pulled gun on a cop today :-) :-)

Jimi....you didn't really pull a gun on a cop....did you? He could have shot your leg off....and the family curse would have come true. :D :D

Re: Pulled gun on a cop today :-) :-)

I had a guy pull a gun on me once when I was a cop! I nearly shot him too! It was me in a mirror! I was checking out an alarm in a department store and wondered into a dressing room in the dark. I felt for the light switch and finding it I switched it on. There was a guy standing there pointing a gun at me! If it hadn't been for the uniform I know I would have shot him! Monty

Re: Pulled gun on a cop today :-) :-)

Most cops are people too. They can be a wealth of information if you get them in a good mood. I try not to give them any reason to be in a bad mood when I am hunting or any other time. And yes there are some who are over zealous and will come down hard on you no matter what. Just keep an even calm attitude and you will get the best results possible.

Apparently my preposterous, habitual stabbing of the forest floor with a bowie knife drew the wrong sort of attention today. So I'm sitting there in typical repose, kneeing on the ground, picking through the millions of shards of fallen 40 ouncers to gather up yet another a less than shinny penny, when officer friendly appears in my peripheral vision. Had a call about a wacko in the woods wielding a big a knife...that would be me. Rather than bore me with the usual litany of laws, rules and regulations I'm violation of, he's fascinated by the mystery of what's in the ground. Aren't we all? To be quite honest, I'm not exactly sure what to say to an officer of the law who isn't reading me my rights. As "die pig die" seemed somewhat inappropriate, I resort to showing off my recently dug junque. Fascinated by it all, he replies by informing me of places I'm not supposed to go, "But if you take that trail right over there, through the hole in the fence, it'll take you right up to the old abandon buildings." As, usual, I can't resist my genetic programing to cause trouble..so I whip out the pellet pistol I'd just dug...uh, slowly, I haven't the bullet proof skin I once did. He just laughs and shakes his head. Nice fellow, gave me some new clues too.

When's the last time you drew a gun on a cop? Surely the highlight of my week.

Pics soon...it's soaking to kill off the army of bugs that had taken up residence in it.
The police forbids to be in a wood with a knife? Or you have broken still what that the law?

Re: Pulled gun on a cop today :-) :-)

HAHAHAHA ;D

Re: Pulled gun on a cop today :-) :-)

Some idiots do not like us metal detecting any where...sometimes I see a police car coming towards me really fast , they take a look at me and then leave me alone with out saying anything, I can only assume that someone has called the cops after seeing me metal detecting... I really hate that.
