Was searching an historic house (with permission) about six months ago. Cop pulls up and asks if we have permission and then starts rattling off all the local history. Then he gets an accident call and has to leave, comes back and we talk some more. Exchange info and now he's a good buddy and we detect together along with his teenage son.

Maybe you should invite your new police friend to go detecting with you Jim! That way you won't get in trouble with other cops.
