1943 Penny

I have four steel pennies, not in the best condition. Will it make it better or worse if I put them in the rock tumbler, or will it destroy the coin? Not concerned about collectors value, just want to make it look better.

I imagine that tumbling the coin will only remove the zinc coating which will make the steel inside the coin more prone to rust. FWIW.

Good luck on the results. like stated, a rusty steel penny is never going to be worth anything unless steel shoots up to the price of silver.
