what the heck is it? i've read a ton of posts on here but i am either not looking in the right place or it hasn't been posted. what are they? they look like electroplated halves. gold? i seriously doubt it and hope not because i've been chuckin' 'em back into the rejects pile. i've seen lots of halves that look like they were plated but none have the stencil like these.

anybody know who stencilled them and why? are they worth anything? i kinda doubt it because i've found too many. i figure that if they were worth something you guys would post about them.

any clues?

This might shed some light on your find. I have not found a market for them but they are sure fun to give to newbies. Cheers, Jim

They pumped them out for the 20th and 25th anniversary. Two different double date stamps.

The originals came in sealed packaging with a serial number on it, etc.

I have one of those from ages ago.

Can't remember who pumped them out... danbury?

The originals are 24kt gold coated or covered or whatever... but its not enough gold to bother with.

I've found plenty "fake" gold coated ones while hunting... not double stamped or anything like that.

got one tonight, but its dated 1983D. Thought these were made with 1980 halves.

Found one myself the other day. It was a 1980.

Happy Hunting!

The date on the coins were all different. I have seen them from 71-80. There are some dated 1960-1985 to furthur confuse the issue. Jim
