There is a multitude of environmental factors that can discolor coins.

Time for more coffee.

Exactly. Knew youโ€™d chime in;) thereโ€™s exactly 75% copper, and 25% nickel in 1965 quarters. Also to note, no silver proofs were made for this year.

Agreed. Dirt and water will discolor Quarters. Mine look like that after I tumble them.

You should look into getting a coin price book there are many collectible coins and error coins to look for. Plus theres alot of good info and fun to read.

There was a time when I learned 1965 was the date the mint went from silver to the copper alloy.
