Got this in my change today. Somewhere I read that some people paint up their coins. Can't remember the reason ???

Also yesterday got a 1955 Wheatie in great shape, but not the Die error version :tongue3:

Back in the days of the coin-operated jukebox, vending route owners would "loan" owners' of establishments in which their machines resided quarters (which were painted so that the owner couldn't pocket them) to use in the jukebox. The theory was that customers were more likely to keep a playing jukebox going as they were to start it up on their own.

I've found red and blue coins, cents, nickels, dimes, and quarters. I throw them in a jar, figure it will look cool when it's filled up. My favorite is a cent that is red and white, I'll try to post a picture later.

The cent is my favorite.
