Hello all. Its been awhile since i posted to much stuff going on. Its been a great year for me crhing though. just got a 68 can dime today is there anyway to tell if it is silver? is the weight different? Does a magnet work?
Gman is correct. For the '68 Canadian dimes (and '68 Canadian quarters) it is that simple. It's either a 50%er or it is 99% nickel; and will stick to a magnet.
Where it gets difficult, OK impossible, is the '67 Canadian dime (and '67 Canadian quarter). Even our Canadian CRHers on here had said there's no way to tell an 80%er from a 50%er; which they switched to during the year. The weight and dimensions are the same; regardless of which one it might be.
When it comes time to selling any, since no one can tell the difference, I believe they said the take the difference between what an 80%er and a 50%er would be worth.
