1970's-2005 Match Box, Hot Wheels, and Mattel cars & Small Crocks

Bought a plastic 'shoebox' of Hot Wheels and Match Box cars for $5, then found a small tub filled with plastic soldiers, tanks, Star Wars items, and more Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and Mattel cars for $10. Many of them are worn. The cardboard Tee Pees, Western Fort, and plastic cowboys and Indians were in a smaller tub for $4.

The Crocks cost a total of $12....

Any ideas about what is collectible and how they should be priced or way they can be sold for the most Bucks for the Bangs?

Thanks for the help.

Yes, take a little time and do your homework on eBay. It's all there. You just have to research it.

Nice buys and I agree with vwayne1's approach bill. Thanks for sharing...

The fort looks like Marx Fort Apache.

I am familiar with the early Marx, but not the later stuff. I don't remember seeing any early Fort Apache sets with gun slots in the walls...but I could be dead wrong about that.

It could be Timmee or Peyton too.

I know a fair amount about older matchbox cars, unfortunately nothing there is really that old. I think the tonkas could be worth a little, not sure exactly. Otherwise, you certainly have a collection that could make a kid very happy!

If any of the hotwheels have red lines around the wheels, you've got something. Also, if you had any decent lesneys they would be worth a bit as well.

I like the Speed Racer Mach V. One of my favorite childhood cartoons. And Trixie was a hottie too! lol.

google toy marx museum..... moundsville wv....hes got the info and he will prob give you a price for the fort apache....hes the authority in these parts....he knows generations that worked at the plant....

The date that you see on the bottom of Hotwheels / Matchbox cars is not necessarily the date THAT car was made... it has a better relationship to when the MOLD for that car was made. So, if you look at the bottom of a 'Taildragger' for instance, the date is mid-80s, but the Taildragger is still in production at Hotwheels, so that particular paint and decal style is actually a 2012 version for instance. Someone mentioned it above, look for red lines around the wheels... those are the Hotwheels that have high value if old (but keep in mind that Mattel has lines of their cars with red lines around the wheels even today).

The picture of the blue lid with the GI Joes at left... there's a red 57 chevy with a paint job and rims from the mid-80's to early 90's, though not worth a ton in that condition: Hot Wheels '57 Chevy Red Enamel Near Mint Vintage Bel Air Blackwall | eBay

All the rest of the Hotwheels, that I can see, are modern. If you have wheels that match the 57 chevy, those will be your older ones. If they have plastic non-chrome wheels, they are probably modern.
