✅ SOLVED 1971 no s nickel?

[fatkook626]

i found this in my moms purse and i would like to know if this is real or not thx!!

[Breezie]

I'm not one of the coin people, but I don't think the 1971 nickels made in Philly had a mint mark. Hopefully one of the coin people will reply. WELCOME to the forum.

PS: Don't go in your Mom's purse.

That's right breezie. Philly nickels didn't have a "P" then. "D" designates Denver mint and "S" designated being minted in San Francisco.
Just a common '71 nickel. It is real :-)

Maybe your thinking of the 1970 no S.

[Bigcypresshunter]

Not sure but I think the 1971 no S is proof only. I dont know how to tell the differencce. Modern Coins ? No-S Proof Coin Set to be offered by Heritage at CSNS : Coin Collecting News
