1976 S- silver,what percent? updated totals

3 boxes of halve to do tonight, first roll out produced a nice 1964 , second roll out produced a 1976 bi-cent , s mint mark with a completely silver edge, is this a 40% silver or 90% silver half? Really excited to finish these boxes but I have to leave in a minute for a police dept meeting.... I'll post results later tonight. Not to bad tonight got a couple of firsts and this was our 6th box in a row with a 90%'er.
FINAL TOTALS:
box 1:
1- 1964d 90%
1-1970s 40% (first ever 1970 found crh'ing)
1-1976s bi cent 40% silver (first ever silver proof found crh'ing)
2-40%'ers ( 1965,1968)
box 2:
1994 s clad proof
box 3:
2- 40%'ers (1968x2)

1980 s clad proof
1989 s clad proof

According to my 2006 U.S. Coin Digest, there were 2 1976-S half dollar coins made. The first was Cupro-nickel, and was made in proof only. The second variety was 40% silver, and contains 0.1480 oz. silver. It was created in an uncirculated form for sets, plus a proof strike.

There were more than two 1976 S halfs made. I have 6 of them.....

It rings, its def silver, just couldn't remember if it was 40% or 90%. I found my copy of the red book a few min ago and found what i needed. Thanks guys!.

Box has been good, I'll update post when I'm complete.

Here is all three side by side. I think I can tell a 40% Proof from a Clad Proof from the face but I am not 100% confident.

If its a silver proof it will be pretty obvious, just like the pictures on this thread. I never had a doubt mine was silver just couldn't remember whether they were 40 or 90 %
