1996W Dime

Has anyone ever found a 1996W while going through rolls of dimes?

It's funny you mention that I looked this up last night cause I saw one being sold on ebay, apparently they go for 10-30 bucks in really good condition. 1 million 400 thousand minted. They weren't intended for circulation.

I don't think anyone here has found in the wild

I just figured out they existed today myself...now I am going through $300 in dimes looking to see if I have any...also decided to keep my really good 65, 71, 71D, 1982-1986 D&P and 95D dimes...anyone else saving those?

no. Especially not the 1965 or 1971D. See way too many of those to see it going up in value in the next 20 years. IMHO

But I AM keeping the 2009 dimes. Already selling at a small premium on ebay, even in circulated condition, and I think that will increase in a few years. :-)

One member found one. Someone asked this same question a few months ago and the member who found it posted the link to his post about finding it.

Found it but can't figure out how to post link using the mobile version.

Search member -- bobert. Look under post of "Roosevelt Dimes" and you will see he found one.

MU

Wish I knew about the 2009s...I just found a 2009P in one of my last 5 rolls since I read that post...also got a real nice 1979S...now I just need to figure out if its type 1 or type 2...will post pics in the morning...its LATE

The 2009 coins seem like a waste of time," a small premium" just doesn't warrant the effort in my opinion.

But then again I don't collect coins.

Im just curious why you wasted everyones time even posting that?
Nobody's time was wasted, the conversation is about 2009 coins and I was throwing in my opinion which is what a forum is all about,

don't read the post next time if you have nothing nice to say :)

If you dont collect coins, why are you surfing the coin section posting nonsense on peoples posts? And its ANYTHING, not NOTHING

This is the coin roll hunting sub forum, I'm only into roll hunting for the silver,as I suspect quite a few others are.

I usually skip dc's posts. I save all 2009 coins. My two cents. Also I've been looking into the 96W you can get a slabbed and graded one for a reasonable price

The 1996 W dime seems interesting if almost impossible to find. ;-) What else would standard crh look for in dimes that are post 65? Seems a slew of things for 1/2 dollars.

Here is the list of Dimes I decided to keep, since I cant seem to find any silver this week...cant wait for my $4K in halves to come in on Wednesday...anyway, the list:

1965, 1971, 1971D, 1982 (no mint), 1982P & D, 1983 P & D, 1984 P & D, 1985 P & D, 1986 P & D, 1990P, 1995D, 1996W and 2009 all...and of course any silver and all dates with S mint

I normally skip DaCC's posts too, but in this case I have to take his side, because he is right. this is the "Coin Roll Hunting Forum' not the "Coin Collecting Forum".

So when your hunting....you keep some, be they silver, or dates etc.

Cant bring myself to date check dime, too freaking small and I'd go crazy looking though all of them. Why is the 2009 special?
