1st crotal bell?

Tonight in the cornfield, after years of hunting, I found what I think is my 1st ever crotal bell. My doubt is due to its small size... (isn't that the story of my life!) Maybe it's a bell off the reigns of a sleigh? Tell me what you think.

Thanks, Scrappy. So is a crotal bell also called a petal bell? Mine seems to fit both descriptions and I'm guessing it's mid 19th century.

They are what you call them. I call them Crotal bells, which is a widely accepted name, and I don’t plan on changing that.

In Britain this size Crotal bell (or Rumbler) would be used on a sheep or goat.

Thanks, CRUSADER. I'm sure over the years there were both goats and sheep on this farm. I've found horse shoes and ox shoes there as well.
