Hi everyone! I just got back in the water a couple of weeks ago with a new excalibur! After putting in about 40hrs on her she struck gold! I found a washout that had formed and worked it back up to the beach. The ring was found in the bottom of the washout in a shell layer. I'm not sure what karat it is, the markings on the inside are Chinese as well as the inscriptions on the outside. I will have to get a test kit I guess. I already love this machine! Hope I get to post some more real soon!

Possibly 22kt. gold . What is the weight?

great going sand gnat!

Possibly 22kt. gold . What is the weight?

I don't have a scale to weigh it but its a smaller diameter than my 14k band. It's about the same thickness as my 14k and slightly wider. It is significantly heavier than my 14k. I need to get a scale.

Awesome find keep them coming

That’s a beaut Sand Gnat!
From the deep gold color, 22K would be probable, especially as it is most likely from China. I would also be interested in interpreting the inside and outside symbols.

After looking into the 5 symbols on the outside of the ring, they all appear to be the same. The symbol appears to be the Chinese symbol for "fortune". On the inside of the ring the name "JIN E" is inscribed. The other inscription on the inside is Chinese and I will have to find someone to translate it.

That is a rich -looking gold ring , Sand Gnat!

Congrats on finding that one.

If you can post a pic of the inside band inscription, I have a Chinese friend who could translate it for you.

Here is a pic of the inside inscription. I'm not sure if it is clear enough to read but heck it's worth a try. Thanks
