1st Post & 1st Silver

I got my MDer about 3 weeks ago and I go during my lunch hour. Today I was at some local baseball fields. I was working the areas where people would sit with lawn chairs to watch the game. I got a good quarter signal at 6" and got my first silver. I don't have a probe so I pull out a clump and pass it in front of my coil. I love the feeling of getting a signal from the clump in my hand. I know I have something now I just have to pick it out.

I also made my 1st digger out of 304 stainless with a solid bar stock handle. It's a little heavy by nice and rigid.

Congrats, Jeff, on your first wilver. You will never get tired of digging wilver from the ground. I've dug hundreds of wilvers from the ground this year, and I still get excited when I dig one up.

If you know what 304 is, then I'd guess you're possibly a welder by trade?

Welcome to T-net Jeff. That is awesome that you found the first silver so quickly. Especially that it is a quarter. I first was a 44 Merc dime. I say especially that it was a quarter because I was on a mission to find my first silver quarter and finally unexpectedly while testing a Metal Detector with a friend I finally found one LOL.

Congratulations on that find and welcome once again. Will be looking forward to your future posts.
