5 hours out on a roman villa site. This one was gridded before but the farmer did a deep plow after harvest and i gave it a try and was well rewarded.
I grid the main area again and first better find was a Denarius. First one this year! :hello2: Need help IDing, looks to me like a Republican Silver. I got three more silvers from 1797 to 1844, a couple modern coins and two scrappies. Find of the day was a tiny blue roman glass bead. :icon_thumleft:

Yeap, its a BCer for sure. With no letters it will be a tough guess. (still one on our list)

The 3 silver Roman we had was from a deep plough. Always a good time to try again. Don't forget the rest of the site, not just the main area.

4 silver - GREAT DAY.

Iunius Silanus, 91 BC, makes it my oldest Roman coin if i'm right! Happy! :laughing9:

Thats a great ID, I guess you can see a letter or two.

That would be equal to my oldest ever Celtic, never had a Roman anywhere near that - CONGRATS

Thanks Cru! It was just a try because we hit this field pretty hard before with some buddies and i saw new footprints on it now again. The deep plow made it new and i will grid the rest for sure now!

Wow, what a remarkable coin find and the little bead, a real topper. Congrats.

Congrats on all the silvers, especially the Roman!

Looks like a great silver day Lu. I noticed no junk, has it all been picked out or did you just not post? Looks like you're on a roll. Good luck.

Thanks Tim! Didn't upload the trash pic. Same as usual. It was the best day this winter season, silver wise. Now it will be hard to get an older Coin!
