Well you might want to start calling me silver jewerly master as another nickname. This morning I woke up at 8:30ish and decided to go detecting. Wasn't sure where to hunt. I thought I might go to the old veterans memorial field. But then decided against it. I drove to this one soccer field in issaquah which I had been eyeing for oh lets just say the whole summer. I see people playing soccer there all the time; so i thought that it would give up something really good.
When I got there It was 9:45 and i turned on my detector. I had trouble getting signals at first but then as soon as I went towards the goal post it seemed like a dream come true!
Signals were turning up everywhere around this thing! I got quarter after quarter and dug them all!
I also got dime signals too as i started to head out of the goal post.
Around my 5th or 6th signal I hit a really high pitch scream on my detector. I thought oh another dime or a penny. But then I noticed that on my screen the square was in the upper right hand corner and do I mean way up there! So I thought Maybe a silver dime or a quarter? I dug my slit in the dirt and I then noticed a edge of something staring at me. I thought oh its stupid aluminum but then I got it out of the dirt and it looked like a ring. I looked inside and to my amazement it was marked Sterling!!!!!
To say the least I was really excited! I called my dad and let him know what i had found and I also called my mom. They were really surprised!
I then put the ring back in my pack full of goodies and headed onward. I was hunting inside the goal post now instead of outside and got this weird signal that I could not make out what it was. I pinpointed it and then dug the slit only to find that it was a little jewerly elephant staring back at me (I am soaking it right now because it looks to be silver but has no marking..We'll see if it is).
After putting that in my pocket I started to move into the middle of the left side of the field. I got a jewerly signal on my detector and I swung. Couldn't find anything. But then I saw something under the grass. So I swung again and then picked it up. It was a little earing. I thought thats cool. At first I thought it was white gold because I have heard of people getting white gold rings. I put it back in my pocket and kept on hunting.
Anyways When it reached 12:45pm I decided that 3 hours was enough and I should go home. My clad total was $3.44! I beat another clad record. Plus I got a sterling silver ring!
Now here comes the fun part! I took my earing that I found to a jeweler in issaquah. She examined it with a magnifine glass and confirmed it was a silver earing and not white gold. I was still pretty pumped when she said silver earing!
She said the elephant may be silver but it is really hard to tell with it being so dirt. Then the flower was just a button.
Anyways We are getting a storm here in the Seattle area so I know I had to hunt before the storm hit us. Its suppose to rain really hard tonight and then all tommorow.
I hope everyone got out this morning and went detecting and enjoyed the outdoors!
