Hello friends! :hello:
Today could get away for two hours to the valley of vineyards and I have a few nice things to teach.
A coin four Reale (appeared broken and bent), a hand barrel tap with the figure of a rooster, a military Spanish Buckle, and medieval beehive thimble and amazing Medieval Horse pendant :o with covering of gold and red paint, in the lions and a with red and gold stripes.
Another good day of August for me.

Hello All, I am in California and found a rooster just like the one above. I thought it was part of a weather vane, but it is really a barrel tap? Do they have any value or just a collectable? Here is what I found. I used a roll of dimes to show how big it is.

Are not equal. :dontknow:
His is lead and my rooster made in cooper .... ( the material composition is very important, that I know very few the Lead Barrel taps ), a barrel tap of lead break easily .... Nor are the same style and his rooster made with a mold, mine is handcrafted.
In short ..... the only thing in common between the two is that they represent two rooster, but nothing more.

These coins made in the 18th to 19th century ,are part of the payment that had to face the Sultan of Morocco in compensation to Moroccan/ Spanish War .
They represented the Star of David, that is the emblem of Morocco since it was colonized by the Sefarditas . (Spanish Jews) :read2:

The bird is well modelled, I like it

Awesome finds! That rooster is killer, kinda looks like a pipe tamper, would love to find stuff like this. HH

OK I'm a goof. Just didn't know what I had found. It kinda of resembled yours. Just wishful thinking. Hoping that I had found a piece of history. Pete
