Hello :hello:

I found myself working out of town this week and decided to investigate the City of Kitchener for potential sites. I found an old school that was built in 1921. It had the original front entance all bricked up and decided that this location looked to hold some promise. I started by hunting under the front windows of the school then made my way to where the original front steps had been. This is when I started to find most of my coins, though most were modern in date. I headed back to the same school yard the next night after work and found even more coins.

I found:

1 - $2
1 - $1
7 - Dimes
4 - Nickels (1 - 1994 US)
41 - CDN Pennies
1- 1957 US Wheat
6 - Memorials
1 - 1967 CDN Commemorative

Total $4.38

As well as other assorted junk.

Thanks very much for looking and good luck to all this weekend!
Dave

Would be nice to find the 1921 little nickel, it looks like you were kept busy.

Thanks Brian, I did find a 1918 a couple of months ago.
Have you had any interesting finds this year?

Dave

I cant tell in you your pics, I don't see any rabbit nickles :icon_scratch:
keep swingin, it's comin your way

Nice finds. I live next to a school yard and have been detecting it for about a month now. Always a great assortment of things to find at schools. Guess I should start posting the finds. Good luck on your next dig! :headbang:

Thanks very much Herbie! The '67 coin was a penny, if it was a silver dime . . . believe me you'd be seeing the pictures! :laughing7: No bunny nickels either, I look forward to finding one of those, but it'll probably be really black as are the rest of my pure nickels.

I'm heading back to the high school this afternoon where I found the musketball, the arrowhead and the '62 silver dime. Hopefully I'll be as lucky as "pl8man" Glen and find at least one silver ring!

Have a great weekend,
Dave

Thanks very much for your kind words Mystro! :icon_thumright: This was the forth school that I've hunted so far, as I've only been hunting for about 3 months now. Schools, parks and neighbours backyards have proven to be very good for "coin shooting" for me. I really want to find a ring one day though, that's what I'm always hoping for when I hear those high tones on my Ace 350! ;D

Best of luck to you on your digs as well buddy!
