DAY 1
I went back to the closest park to my home to cover a new section and a little bit of an elementary school that borders the park. I spent 3.5 hours swingin the CZ21 and found 27 coins with a face value of $2.04, part of a metal statue, a little jewelry, a modern bullet, a clock gear, a button, part of a zipper, aluminum bottle caps, aluminum bottle caps, can slaw, 17 tabs and 1 pencil end.
The jewelry is all cheapie stuff. The larger piece is badly bent. It looks like a small cuff bracelet that had lots of CZs in it originally. Most of the CZs are gone.
The statue looks like it is part of Jesus on the cross maybe part of a large crucifix. It is cast metal and looks like it might be lead.
DAY 2
I went back to the new permission where I had so much luck and did the back yard. Unfortunately the back yard was not nearly as good as the front.
I spent 5.5 hours swingin the CZ21 and found 38 coins with a face value of $2.03, 2 stainless spoons, 2 poker chips, a buckle, an IHP, 2 wheaties, 2 fasteners, assorted jewelry, part of a Plymouth key, a small pistol ball, a .22 bullet, a small piece of a toy car, part of a harmonica reed, lots of melted aluminum (people used to burn their trash in the yard long ago), foil, 2 hitch pins, aluminum grommets and 1 tab.
The 2 wheaties are a 1939 and a 1947. The only interesting pieces are the Indian head penny and the pin. The Indian is a nice green 1897. The back cleaned up nicely, but the front has some stubborn dirt that will take effort to remove without damaging the coin. The pin came out with the back fairly clean and the front with stubborn dirt. The back is marked and I was sure it was silver. When I cleaned it up it still looked pretty good, but the mark was not a silver mark and when I got a look at the edge I could see the silver pealing off the base metal. It is a thick silver plating, but still plated and in poor shape.
A fun hunt, but a little disappointing.
Not much hunting this week because we are leaving for the beach. I’ll let you know if I have any luck there. Hopefully there will be some goodies. Thanks for looking, stay safe, good luck and may your coil lead you to good things.
