2 mercury dimes 5 wheats AT PRO's first real day out.
Well I went out today and talked to my neighbor about a old store across the street from me. He told me the store closed back in the 40's and I have permission to go and detect the store when ever I want to. Then he proceeded to tell me that his father-in-law had a gas station in the back corner of his pasture in the early 20's till the lete 40's and when he tore the building down he and his son found some silver coins. I ask if I could go back there and do some metal detecting he told me to go and have fun and stay as long as I wanted and to come back any time. I thanked him and then I went to where the old place was and started detecting. I got no hits at first but as I got closer to the property line I got a few hits. Keep in mind I am on the first real hunt with my new AT PRO. First real hunt I have ever been out on ever!!!! I dug up a few old nails,cans and a piece of pipe I think was part of the store. Then I got a high tone that showed up as a penny I dug it an found my first WHEAT. I stuck the pin pointer back in the hole and got another hit, moved some dirt and there it was a SILVER DIME. Man was I excited to see my first silver in the hole. I proceeded and got another hit 3 feet away, Another silver dime! Well in all I found 2 silver dimes and 3 wheats. Im on the my way to learning my new detector! I will go back in the morning to cover more ground.
