This may be a long shot, but I thought I would give it a try! I have 2 small metal pieces that I’m not sure what they are. They were dug from a late 1800’s-early 1900’s trash pit! (That’s our best guess considering the estimated age of the other items we’ve found). The one circular piece that Is squished is intriguing. It’s so smooth and slightly heavy. Seems to have a green tenge to it in areas, so maybe it has brass mixed in? I’m not sure! Just thought I would ask! Thanks for checking it out!! :D 4E8874A0-402B-41FC-AB76-1DC408CA49A2.webp39AE4AB5-CDAB-47E3-95A8-8D37484F7EE6.webp42B216E3-4144-46A4-BC0A-8870E18B71B8.webp7C2D2D98-74A6-4233-B110-71ADAF0C95DB.webp6324209C-7F7F-4C84-8094-B110F9CF9E3C.webp

I have no idea what either piece is, but they both sure are intriguing!

The forked looking object looks to be a type of clevis that would have been on some type of machinery, there was most likely a threaded rod attached to the rounded end the forked end would of been attached to some mechanism or control that would be needing some adjustment at some point to keep the mechanism in sync for it's operational function, could be a throttle linkage or many other functions, etc., hard to say exactly other from than it's size I would say it wasn't used in a mechanism that needed a lot of force applied to it like a clutch or brake system, etc.

I’ll take a stab at the round thing, maybe a belt/strap tip, end protector type thingie but I’m prolly wrong. Cool digs!!

The forked piece is off of a 19th C bit of furniture. It's a wheel/caster (missing its wheel).

Is there wire inside it? Maybe a broken horse blanket pin.
