2011 recovery totals: CardsNCoins

Happy New Year.

In 2011 I searched $4,500 (180 boxes) in cents, $27,500 (55 boxes) in quarters, $150,000 (600 boxes) in dimes, $124 (1.24 boxes) in nickels, and $328,500 (657 boxes) in halves. Here is what I was able to recover:

1 - Silver Canadian quarter
131 - Mercury Dimes
1,151 - Roosevelt Dimes
13 - Silver Canadian Dimes
1 - War Nickel
1 - 1952 Booker T. Washington/George W. Carver commemorative half
1 - 1993 Bill of Rights commemorative half
2 - Barber halves
264 - Walking Liberty halves
302 - Franklin halves
580 - 1964 Kennedy halves
2,599 - 40% Kennedy halves

I may off... But speaking in terms of halves, that's less than 8 per box. Put things into perspective with the amount you hunt and his numbers only look impressive when you don't add all the facts.

It is a quite a bit of silver and you should be commended for your effort but I don't feel you are pulling at any large ratio. Nice job!!!

I also would like to see the spoils, I'm an older hunter and that's how we operated

Many of us on the west coast dream of an average of 8 per box. I'd be happy with half of that.

Impressive and inspiring! I read in one of your posts that you use a Ryedale for the cents. Are you going through the other denominations by hand, or do you run them through the machine as well?
