2011 recovery totals: CardsNCoins

Happy New Year.

In 2011 I searched $4,500 (180 boxes) in cents, $27,500 (55 boxes) in quarters, $150,000 (600 boxes) in dimes, $124 (1.24 boxes) in nickels, and $328,500 (657 boxes) in halves. Here is what I was able to recover:

132,065 - Copper Cents
3,194 - Wheat Cents
7 - Indian Head Cents
30 - Washington Quarters
1 - Silver Canadian quarter
131 - Mercury Dimes
1,151 - Roosevelt Dimes
13 - Silver Canadian Dimes
1 - War Nickel
1 - 1952 Booker T. Washington/George W. Carver commemorative half
1 - 1993 Bill of Rights commemorative half
2 - Barber halves
264 - Walking Liberty halves
302 - Franklin halves
580 - 1964 Kennedy halves
2,599 - 40% Kennedy halves

Congratulations on your efforts. You were amply rewarded. It must kill you knowing that you didn't get a round number like 330k of halves for the year. I know I would have drove around the tri-state area to scrap up 2500 in halves just to peg the meter. Awesome effort, and awesome reward.

Wow Nick, your totals are simply incredible! At $40/oz you have well over 40K in silver there, a life-changing amount if you could sell all at once at that price! :thumbsup:

I am absolutley amazed at your recovery of silver. What I am even more amazed at is the volume you do. I have asked several times in the past how you dump so much volume day in and day out. Your answer to me was that you dump the coin, pick up the cash and continue on. Where I live there are several banks that have coin counters for public use.
My CU has one but only allows $100.00 deposit at a time through the machine, anything over they charge 4% overage fees.
My secondary bank has a "Free" counter they do not charge customers for with virtually no limit to what you can dump. There are
two locations within a 15 mile radius that I could use, although these machines are extremely slow and very very loud. To dump
the amount of 1/2 dollars you do would literally take me at least 3 - 4 hours a day just to dump.
BofA will let me dump an unlimited amount if I use their bags and wait three to four days while they ship it out to their coin bank to
be counted and deposited, that is to long in my book.

You have quite the system, looking forward to a new and better 2012 for you and db.
