2014: The Hunter and the Hunted

Picked up two boxes of halves + three CWR of halves today on my lunch break, the three rolls gave up three 40%ers:

1966
1967
1968D

Boxes will be searched later.

Those are some nice finds for just 3 rolls. Good luck with the boxes.

Mastermind, I'm in the PA as well, and my boxes from this past week have started getting 2014's mixed in as well. They're the first ones I've found this year, and they're coming in all of a sudden. I haven't had any solid rolls though, just a few sprinkled in here and there. I wonder what the deal is!?

One of the boxes of halves from yesterday was a skunk, the other gave up three 40%ers:

1966
1967
1968D

Same as I found in the three CWR. Haha.

Yeah, I haven't seen one 2014 half this year until that box. And then it was LOADED with them. Go figure.

Picked up a box of halves over the weekend, it gave up four 40%ers:

1966
1967
1968D
1969D

There was also at least one 2014 half, either P or D, in EVERY singe roll. One roll was solid 2014, mixed P and D. Weird box.

I have yet to see a 2014 half.

I got some 2014 halves back in early April this year and only have found a few since then.

Hadn't found ANYTHING in a few weeks, skunks galore in both halves and dimes.

Picked up four boxes of halves + $400 in MWR of halves this weekend, scored five keepers:

1945 Walker
1965
1966
1967
1968D

Its always nice seeing those silver edges again after a skunk streak. Bet that Walker was a nice sight too. Strange you found those boxes last month with so many 2014's. I still haven't found a single one of those yet. Just never know with this hobby.

H$H!

Damn skunk streak!! I sure dont miss that, but I do miss finding silver at face value!! haha

HH!

Wow, yeah, that's more silver than I have found in my last 14 boxes. Great grab!

For halves, the skunk streak was 23 boxes. For dimes, it was 11. Brutal.

Picked up $23 in loose halves today on my lunch break, scored seven keepers:

1951D Ben
1952 Ben
1967 x 2
1968D x 3

8-)

First silver I've seen since mid-October.

Not a bad score for only getting $23 in loose halves. Congrats

Picked up two boxes of halves + two boxes of dimes on Monday, one of each were skunks.

The other box of halves gave up three 40%ers:

1967 x 2
1968D

The other box of dimes gave up two keepers:

1936 Mercury
1953 Roosie

First hunt in, like, a month. Called around to a few banks that are out of my usual stomping grounds, quite a ways out actually. One had $900 in CWR that have been sitting in the vault for several weeks now.

Drove the 45 minutes and got up to the teller's line, told the lady I was the one who called for the halves. She happily went and got them. Was about to give her the cash until a customer service rep came up and asked if I had an account. Told the lady yes, handed the cash to the teller, then the lady says that I had to swipe my debit card in order to complete the transaction.

Since I had the coin in my hand and the teller had the cash, figured I'd just let it be known that I didn't actually have an account and that they had got me. Fully expecting them to say it was alright just this once...

Some of those wrappers looked damn old and dusty!

But, nope. The teller gave me the cash back, and I had to hand over the halves.

My face when:

I was was so freaking pissed.

Anyway, ended up picking up a box of halves and three boxes of dimes instead. Dimes were all skunks.

Box of halves gave up five 40%ers:

1967 x 2
1968D
1969D x 2

Picked up a box of dimes + $90 in CWR of halves on my lunch break today. Halves gave up seventeen 40%ers:

1968D
1969D x 16

8-)

Will search the box of dimes tonight.
