With a field like ‘triangle field’, I’d get bored after every rain.
Thanks for artfully sharing that trip with us. Looks like the material on 4 of those pieces is similar. And, one of those triangles looks drill-like to me. Are they Madison types?
I think they are madisons and ft ancient triangles.
I do think this one is a drill, it's much thicker than the triangles. My very first drill here too. Can't believe it.

The chert I find is mostly Grey. Some is almost black. Then some is tan like the sand. I wish I knew for sure what type it is.

Middle of last week we had a couple of really hard downpours. A few days later took a ride up to see if field was dry enough to walk. Dang, pickup truck sitting there. Yep guy walking middle of the field. Oh well maybe another day. Two days later I go to see again and crap. There's a car sitting there. Only this guy is standing next to car. Not in field. So I circled around returned 15 mins later and he's gone.
so with an hour daylight I took a walk. Truly expecting nothing. Foot prints everywhere.
But then 20 mins in already picked up a handull of flakes. This little guy, just laying there right next to footprints.

A field full of footprints, but some goodies missed -and left just for you. Pottery and points, you gotta love when that happens! (Madison?)

Here's a 2019 lucky find from MA.

It's only been two days and no rain. But it was 65 degrees. Alot of rain coming so it will be muddy for days. So olddog and me went for a walk.
First off we saw our favorite bird.

Since I seen the gentleman walking the other day I decided to walk an area of the field that I don't usually find much. And I didn't. After some time I made my way over to the side where he was and the area was covered in foot prints. While bent down picking up flakes and chips I seen a piece off to my left. I poked it with my stick and immediately saw the side. I can't even believe this. I just starred at it. Can't even see it standing upright.

Really nice finds- and REALLY good eye!! You may have already said- but are you in the mid-Atlantic region? I used to live there, a couple different states. The materials seem familiar. Consider picking up similar flakes near points. Sometimes they fit the broken one! and a corner nip/broken point's matching/missing bit is ALWAYS smaller than you think it should be!

I'm an idiot. Central NY . Clear as day... ::)

Ah-- okay then! Well, check yer flakes anyway! LOL

Oh I do. I pickup everything. I find things when I go through it at home sometimes. Always a bonus..
