✅ SOLVED 25c token with 1 word i cant read

found the token detecting.front say H.BOOGAR LA MARKET THE BACK SAYS GOOD FOR 25C WITH. Theres a word after with that is missing.this token is not in the catalogs or ebay.its all so in the token thread. thanks guys

Rather than the more usual “Good for 25c In Trade” many tokens had the alternative “Good For 25c With…”

For beverage companies it was often things like “Good for 25c With Return of 5 bottles” and for restaurants I’ve seen things like “Good For 25c With Any Steak”. That is, some specific condition related to the type of business. For more general trade it was most usually “Good For 25c With $X Purchase/Spend/Sale [or whatever]” where ‘X’ was a specified minimum number of dollars to qualify for the discount.

Yours is unreadable, even with some enhancement, but as said on your other thread, the issuer was likely the fruit and produce salesman Harry Boogar. As such, I would think it unlikely the missing word or words (which must be fairly short) specifically relate to his business at the Los Angeles market. More likely they represent a specified minimum spend but, unless you can find a picture of the same token, or a generic design used by someone else, it’s going to remain a mystery.

Alternatively, some careful cleaning might reveal at least some of the letters.

ok,i win the word is CAN.it was used for a deposit refund for a reusable bulk container,glad that is over,i can slept a night now

i found it its CAN it was used for a deposit refund for a reusable bulk container.this is why i like coins they have a dam date on them, owell thanks for your help.take care Brad
