🔎 UNIDENTIFIED 29mm Pewter Coat button

This weekend I found this 29mm coat button with a back of pewter and a hard silver colored front that's joined at the top of the rim. I've never seen this type of button before. It was found in an area where I found 2 USA buttons. Any Clues?

Surprised you haven't gotten response. It appears to be a button all right, but not like any I have seen, and I have recovered a great many old, metal buttons. The distortion is unusual, too. Interesting. I hope someone more "buttoned-up " than I will be able to tell you what it is.
