2nd Fav Field & Cru'Team united.....

Spent 5 hours on the fields until Cru'dad got home from the holiday & checked his emails. He guessed, based on the finds which field I would be on & came straight down.

He only got one drawer knob all day

I had the most scrappies in one day for this year (10), helps towards the 300 target.

Not that the Crusader team would need any help, but if you'd like some assistance on those 3000 acres perhaps some of us would be willing to hop the pond and give a hand! How many can you fit on your sofa?!

I honestly dont understand the farmers in england. they could save a ton of money on fuel alone by just inviting you and cru-dad over before planting. after you two are done detecting/tilling their land they could just plant and be done.

Thanks Dale (and everyone else that replied).
This year has been tough on our bodies & finds. We have had some success but its mostly in the quantities of 'average' finds rather than in the 'quality' of finds. I'm still confident that by the end of the year we will have had a better year than last (which was amazing for us!). How we will follow that next year is anyones guess

I like to show every hunt (good & bad) to indicate the time & effort it takes to find the outstanding pieces of our history

As Kirkpa would say 'its easy in the UK', but only with a little bit of his 'passion'. Too much would grow my head.
Its only easy for us because we have been open & honest with all our farmers, which have stopped all other dis-honest detectorist in the area getting a look in (other than at night). We have exclusive use of nearly all the land in our area. The only land we can't do is Church Commission which have a flat ban, even though Dad is heavily involved in the Church.
