2nd Secretary Desk Restoration

Found this desk for free on FB Market Place.
Manufactured approximately 1914-1920’s.
Feet had been busted off, shelves missing and writing surface was broken off. Along with more all around damage.
Made some new shelves and feet cut out of solid blocks. Touched up the original finish. Added new handles for the doors. (Unable to find original hardware that was removed)
Using to display my Metal detecting finds.

My parents had two Secretary desks . One for each of them to use. When they passed , I got my dads desk and still use it . It isn't as fancy as yours but I'd never get rid of it. I've had it for 49 years now.

Thanks.. It took a bit of brain storming on how I could reattach the folding writing surface. It was pretty well damaged, this is likely why the previous owners decided to give it away.
