Ironhorse and I went back to the site I dug the 1679 Charles II Twopence, and based on there being three very old coins we both thought the same thing... why couldn't there be a cob there! Even though the subject came up, and it did seem like it would be possible, I don't think either of us thought it was really going to happen... especially since the site went from feast on day one and closer to famine today. But if you dig all the sounds that have a chance sometimes it works out!

Killer find brother! It's such a great feeling to hold such a cool piece of history. It makes you wonder what it was in its previous life. The silver was melted down into a bar, clipped, pounded and stamped...hard to say exactly what it was. That's the part that still intrigues me about cobs!
