Went out for a hunt today with two fellow members of TNet, (Vineyarder, Dig-MV) we decided to check out an old field in the middle of the woods. The field is located in a very old area of our hometown and is pretty close to several colonial homesites. We have spend a couple of days in areas close to the field, walking cart trails and finding some pretty decent finds but never spent anytime in the field until today.
Started off slow until I headed up towards one end of the field into the woods and noticed what could possibly have been a cellar hole and a trash pit. Got myself a nice 12-43 on the Etrac and dug my first ever 1 Reale! Called the guys over to check it out and we then spent the next two hours on the edge of the field near the cellar hole. Ended up with a pocket full of old buttons and and 3 complete shoe buckles. My collection of complete shoe buckles doubled in size in a single day! Cant wait to get back out to the site and do some more digging to see what else we can find! If anyone has any info on what the purple glass looking thing is or the medallion please let me know!

HH and thanks for looking!

Boy, I'd love to play in your sandbox but its 500 miles away.
Those buckles are great.

I believe you have two shoe buckles and a lone knee buckle. The reale is a sweet find, and the purple glass is a horse bridal rosette. All is old and wicked cool. Congrats on it all, that's a hellava hunt

Excellent hunt,,
Man,, would I love to find some Spanish Silver.
Congrats

Wow, thats a whole mess of quality finds  Shoe buckles are some of my favorite relics and I've only gotten one complete with with the chape and tongue. Typically I just find the frames. I agree with Scrappy, the smaller one on the left is a knee buckle and its in great shape. Congrats on the killer Spanish silver too.

Great day in the morning....nice hunt.

Awesome finds. I've only found 1 complete 18th century shoe buckle but it's pretty beat up. Your example are in great shape!

Yeah, I'd be happy with just one of those complete shoe buckles. Still on my list.

Those are some sweet relics

Thanks guys! If the hunt had ended after one shoe buckle I would have been a happy camper but to dig another complete one and a nice knee buckle I was on cloud nine!! Still have so much more of the field to hunt and can't wait to get back out there.

Well done! That is a fantastic bunch of finds. The reale is gorgeous, and I love, love love the buckles!

Now that's what i would call a successful hunt. Congrats!

Man Luke, you're still killing it!! That is one fancy rosette!

Congratz on some great finds! I love the buckles and the Real is astounding!

Some really nice finds! Of course, I love the silver; but also like the buckles. These are in great shape. I've found several colonial era buckles, but have yet to find even one that's as nice as those! Thanks for sharing

Congrats on your first Real and the shoe and knee buckles. Very good day you had. The large silvered disk under the buckles...is that a large button or another rosette?

Steve, it looks to be a pin of some sort, the back is tough to see but does have some nice detail along the rim. Heres some better pictures
