Went to my little pond again today, surprise surprise- i ended up with three more helmets, one more stickgrenade, and the bottom of a small mine of some sort.

Unbelivable all you can find if you have some patience.

I havent cleaned the items, just left them outside in the rain until later today.
(I can take more photos later if someone likes to see the stuff cleaned)

Hope you all get inspired.

Happy hunting everyone. :wink:

Hi All

@Trond

You nees to put the helmets in distilled water now!! Because if you let them get dry and try to clean them they will keep rusting
without desalinateing them.

@Goldiver

I usually dont show things like this,but you wanted to see some weapons
x2 Stg 44s probably from the SS.

Thank you for concern, i dont let the helms dry out. I spray them with oil every day.
You have some beautiful weapons on your photo , hope i can find something like that someday. :wink:

nice finds i have a nade too my grandpa bought it from his friend hem met i ww2 its and american frag but he killed it and its dead...... let me rephrase that its not a live nade

@Trond

Oil is ok when you have desalted the object,but if you do not take the time and desalt you will always have problems with rusting.
Being from Norway i dont know if you can read German,but if you can here is a site that might interst you.
http://www.restaurierung-und-mehr.de/
I have had these weapons in distilled water for over a month now.
Im telling you this because if you want to maybe restore and sell them for some extra money,then you should do it right.
Just trying to help ya.

Greetings from Germany

Always grateful for good advice. I will put them in some destilled water. :)

Some of you wanted to see some photos of the pond, and surroundings. Today i took some photos, i hope they look nice.
I didnt find more stuff in the pond today, i belive there are more deep in the middle. But it is very difficult to remove the hard mud, and to dive down with airtanks. I will for sure do this somaday, but not now. Need someone to assist me with this work.

I will inform you all if something new gets under my coil out here.

How deep is that pond and how old is it? Is it manmade or is it natural?

This pond is natural. I am not sure how deep it is, but in the middle i belive it is ca 3meters+ deep. It has very thick mud some places so its hard to tell, but i think there are more goodies in the deep spot.

I have order an new magnet from: www.supermagnete.com , its the strongest this factory had- it has an lifting capasity of 124kg, and the magnet weights 620grams. I hope it will help us lift some new stuff from the pond. :P

Here is a couple of photos the factory has to show the strenght of this magnet.

Here's a link to a video showing guys using a magnet in a lake to get military items.
Hope it helps...

Here's another cool one.

The last one comes pretty close to grave robbing. The IC and dogtag suggest that.

There were plenty of soldiers that died unburied on the Eastern Front.

Lucky for me there is no fallen soldiers here were i live.
If there were any, i wouldn't touch anything. I respect the fallen soldiers to much, it doesn't matter from which country they fought and died.
